Styles

This is the primary heading class style for titles of stories and pages.

This is a secondary heading class that can be used on the first paragraph of a story to lead in to the main body text. It should be used at the discretion of the writer if it adds dynamics and supports visual interest. Usually this can be determined by the amount of copy. Not too little and not too much.

Normal Text

This is the basic text for paragraphs. Ideally the body text does not contain too many paragraph breaks, so that body text paragraphs create pleasing shapes on the page that allow the reader to scan quickly and see a sense of order and rhythm.

Pull Quotes

The use of Pull Quotes can help to build visual rhythm and add variety and contrast to long passages of text.

The use of Pull Quotes can help to build visual rhythm and add variety and contrast to long passages of text. Pull quotes are short excerpts from the presented text. They are used to pull a text passage out of the reader’s flow and give it a more dominant position in the post or the article. For KC, we can set a design pattern that these don't use quotation marks.

Block Quotes

“I think, therefore I am.”
— René Descartes

Block quotes (or block quotations) are also set off from the main text as a distinct paragraph or block. However, they refer to some external citation which isn’t already mentioned in the article. Block quotations are usually placed within the reader’s flow. For KC, we can set a design pattern that these do use quotation marks.
